Spatial Analysis Between Nitrate & Cancer

Goal of this project was to produce an application where users could run analysis:

  • The first part of the application should use inverse distance weighting (1/dk) to produce a raster map of nitrate levels.
  • The second part of the application should use regression to determine if nitrate concentrations are related cancer occurrences.
  • Python & Tkinter were used for application.

Park Application

Goal of this project was to application to be useful to visitors before they arrive to the park and provide information while the visitors are inside the park:

  • Create a mobile-friendly map application for a park using user-centered design
  • A minimum of 5 data layers (collected or made up) must be used in the application
  • All data must be stored in a database.
  • A minimum of 4 functions must be included in the application
  • Esri JavaScript API & SQL Server

Visual Story Challenge

Goal of this project was to produce a longform in Adobe Illustrator that would tell a story about a topic of choice. The longfrom had to include the following:

  • One bivariate map
  • One supporting histogram, scatterplot or other statistical graphic
  • Construct a visual story as a single longform image file in a .png format.

Terrain Representation Challenge

Goal of this project was to produce a detailed basemap for a road cycling tour. The basemap had to include the following:

  • The temporal sequence of the stage segments must be clearly labeled
  • A detailed basemap that includes terrain, land cover, and place name labels
  • Construct a visual story as a single longform image file in a .png format.
  • Use Adobe Photoshop to produce final raster layer by combining landcover and hillshades
  • Use Adobe Illustrator to combine hillshade and vector layers to produce final product
